“As therapists, we are in the business of freedom– we help people relinquish stories of self that are painful, stories of this moment that are alienating, stories of the future that are limiting.”-ILI Rivera Walker
Therapy is a journey of self-discovery, healing and empowerment. It’s an opportunity for you to explore your life’s narrative and dictate how the rest of your story will unfold. Whether it’s healing wounds from trauma, processing life-altering events, focusing on coping with a specific struggle such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, or working to improve your relationships, it’s my honor to join you on your journey.
As a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor, it is my life’s work to facilitate and teach therapeutic techniques and interventions that guide you along in the healing process. I welcome individuals from all walks of life that are ready to re-write their narrative. My approach is holistic in nature and I am eclectic in pulling from various theoretical modalities based on each case and the particular needs of my clients. I use a down to Earth person-centered style as individuals, couples and families share with me intricate parts of their lives and relationships. Fostering a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients is the core of my practice. I like to think of myself as a Therapeutic Sensei aiming to share the knowledge of my studies and equip you with skills to utilize for your well being long after you’ve stepped foot outside my office. Operating from the philosophy “true healers teach you how to heal yourself”.
I’ve earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Bennett College for Women in Greensboro N.C. My training at both The Chicago School and Bennett College has allowed me to be able to provide mental health services to individuals, families, adolescents and couples ready to overcome various emotional, intellectual and psychological challenges. As an Associate Therapist at Dr. Stephanie’s Relationship Repair Shop, I am excited to begin this transformative experience with you!
I see clients at the Laurel Location:
