Speaking Engagements

Imagine yourself at the event you are planning.  You have put every detail in place including the menu, the lights, the decorum, and the perfect schedule.  See yourself surrounded by the guests you want to impress and inspire.  You are introducing your speaker and you feel confident the speech will light up people's faces.  Afterwards imagine your audience standing and clapping.  People are looking at you and each other.  Faces are smiling, eyes are winking, heads are nodding . . . The motivating and interesting message created a spark!  The energy created extends through the life of your event - and longer.

I, Stephanie Knarr, am devoted to you and your audience having a tremendous relationship-building experience!  After speaking at your event, I will gracefully turn towards you and look at your face where I will know you are happy with the results.  Raised on a Nebraska farm by entrepreneurial business owners, I give a clever and inspiring speech entitled  "Customer Service that Reaps Harvest" (Copyright Stephanie Weiland Knarr, 2009).  I follow my own advice and give excellent and down to earth customer service to the event planners who choose me as a speaker.  I spend time before your event learning about you, your organization, and your audience.  To craft just the right speech, I must know your audience's potential likes and dislikes, their current frame of mind, and personality preferences.  When I am preparing to speak to an audience, I use my psychological knowledge about personality types and relationships to create a message that is in line with your goals!

This is my story . . . I have been giving speeches since I was 8.  Yes, at 8 years old I gave my first speech for a county 4-H competition about being the oldest child in a large family. (How cute is that?)  I continued to speak competitively through elementary and high school, followed by a paid speaking opportunity at Creighton University of Omaha, Nebraska where I traveled extensively with the University President and Development Team to fundraising events throughout the United States.  I gave an inspiring message on the student experience of my alma matter.  Since then, I have continued speaking professionally: presenting academic research, teaching college courses, training other mental health professionals, and speaking at events and meetings.  I now devote my time speaking almost exclusively for meetings and events.  In addition, I continue my clinical practice building relationships as a clinical marriage and family therapist in the Columbia, Maryland region.
