Q. How many sessions will it take to reach my therapy goals?
A. It depends upon your therapy goals and the quality of your current relationship, however on average clients will attend 5-8 visits to complete their goals.
Q. How often do most clients attend therapy?
A. Most clients attend therapy on a weekly or bi-weekly basis for several sessions until they have reached their goals. After that, they often schedule one or two follow-up sessions a month or six weeks later to make sure they are maintaining the changes they have made. Many clients will then call and make an appointment on an as-needed basis after that if any other problems arise they would like help with.
Q. Where is your office located?
A. Dr. Stephanie’s home office is conveniently located in Laurel, MD, off of Interstate 95 between D.C. and Baltimore in Howard County. Stephanie’s associates also currently have offices in Annapolis and Waldorf, Maryland.
Q. How do I pay for my session?
A. The accepted forms of payment are to bring either cash or a check to your appointment. For your convenience, you may also pay with a credit or debit card at your appointment (including an HSA or FSA card) however there is a 3.5 % processing fee.
Q. Will my insurance cover my counseling sessions?
A. Many insurance plans do not cover marriage or relationship counseling. You can call you insurance member services to find out your benefits. If you have out of network benefits, then you can ask your therapist to give you a receipt at each session for you to send to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Q. What if I have to cancel my session?
A. If you need to cancel your appointment please call the office (301-490-1011) 24 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment time or send an e-mail by replying to your appointment confirmation e-mail. There is a late cancellation fee of the full cost of your appointment for appointments not cancelled 24 hours in advance.
